Revelation 13, the first half, describes a terrible beast that John saw in a vision. At closer inspection the first clues towards the entity of this beast becomes evident. This beast is a conglomerate of the four beasts that Daniel saw in a night vision and is also the Little Horn which we have already identified in the previous article.
Lets read from Revelation 13:1-8;
“And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea,”
Note: A beast in prophecy is a kingdom and sea in prophecy is multitudes of people, nation and tongues. So, there arose a kingdom between many nations.
“having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.”
Note: How many heads did the four beasts in Daniel’s vision had altogether? Also seven, just like this beast. The lion had one, the leopard had four, the bear had one and the last and most terrible beast also had one, totaling to seven.
This beast also has ten horns, just like the fourth beast in Daniel 7, and each horn is crowned. In Daniel 7 the ten horns of the fourth beast resembled the division of the Roman Empire (the fourth beast) into ten kingdoms. This beast then, which is a kingdom according to prophecy, is crowned over the ten kingdoms of Western Europe – or more stout that the others in reference to Daniel 7:20.
“And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion:”
Note: This beast had ten horns like the fourth beast in Daniel 7, had the likeness of a leopard, feet of a bear and a mouth like a lion. This beast is a conglomerate of the previous four which is found in Daniel 7, it is then, a product of the Roman Empire.
“and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.”
Note: The power, seat and great authority of this beast comes from the dragon, Satan: “He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years.” Revelation 20:2
“And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.”
Note: This is in reference to Daniel 7 where the little horn, which is also this beast, is said to reign for a period of 3 1/2 prophetic years. That period ended in 1798 during the French Revolution when the pope was dethroned and later died in exile, and thus this beast received a deadly wound to the head and lost its political power for a period.
In this prophecy, this beast’s head wound which seemed fatal, will recover and once again resume religio-political power. This healing process started with the enthronement of Pope Pius XI under the Lateran Concordat, also called the Lateran Treaty of 1929.
“The Pope is again an independent sovereign ruler, as he was throughout the Middle Ages, though his temporal realm, established today, is the most microscopic independent State in the world, and probably the smallest in all history.” THE NEW YORK TIMES, Tuesday, February 12, 1929.
Pope Pius XI
Benito Mussolini reads the pope’s credentials prior to signing the Lateran Treaty on behalf of King Victor Emmanuel III. Cardinal Gasparri (which is seated), signed it on behalf of Pope Pius XI.
“ …and all the world wondered after the beast. And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast?”
Note: This kingdom will assume much authority that only belongs to God. Worship in this sense is religious worship. By worshiping this beast they also worship the dragon, Satan, which gives all it’s power and seat and great authority to it. Who in the world will worship Satan if he knows who he is worshiping? Not many I hope, so deception will play a major role on the part of this beast.
Like in many ancient religions and modern secret societies alike, the Roman Catholic Church has esoteric and exoteric doctrine. The exoteric teaching is that taught to the people, while the esoteric is reserved for the disciples, or initiated ones. In the Roman Catholic Church, these to set of doctrine differs dramatically although both are important for our study. The exoteric doctrine is what the Pope, his Cardinals and the enlightened one teach and practice in secret.
The Roman Catholic Church’s esoteric teachings is that of pagan sun worship disguised as Christianity, as will be seen in other studies.

“who is able to make war with him?”
Note: Did the Roman Catholic Church participate in religious wars? Yes it did. During the dark ages, between 50 million and 150 million Christians lost their lives for the their believe in Jesus Christ and what He did for us at Calvary. The Reformation played a major role in a period of renewed persecution against the saints.
To be exact, it never was the Roman Catholic Church or Papal Rome that persecuted the saints directly, but rather the Jesuits that brought convicted people for Rome to execute them based on their misbehavior and heretic believes.
The Jesuits is an Order of Rome, also called the Society of Jesus. They are seen as a secret military front fighting for the interest of Rome and they are alive and well today. Today, the Counter-Reformation is the Jesuits’ main agenda.
The Knights Templars of old is related to modern day Jesuits.
The letters IHS represents the deities that the Templars worshiped – Isis, Horus and Seb. The same is true for Freemasonry and Catholic esoteric doctrine today.
“And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies;”
Note: In Daniel 7 we have found the same words: “speak great things against the Most High” Daniel 7:8 and we have seen what kinds of claims and statements the Vatican has made before, and is still doing today, by speaking great words:
The Catholic Council of Trent in 1545 declared:
“We define that the Holy Apostolic See and the Roman Pontiff hold primacy over the whole world.”
In 1895 an article from the Catholic National said:
“The Pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, but he is Jesus Christ, Himself, hidden under the veil of flesh.”
Cardinal Robert Bellarmine stated:
“All names which in the Scriptures are applied to Christ, by virtue of which it is established that he is over the church, all the same names are applied to the Pope”
Other documentation regarding the pope goes like;
“He [the Pope] can pronounce sentences and judgments in contradiction to the rights of nations, to the law of God and man…He can free himself from the commands of the apostles, he being their superior, and from the rules of the Old Testament…The Pope has power to change times, to abrogate laws, and to dispense with all things, even the precepts of Christ”
The Gloss of Extravagantes of Pope John XXII says:
“To believe that our Lord God the Pope has not the power to decree as he is decreed, is to be deemed heretical”
In 1512 Christopher Marcellus said to Pope Julius II:
“Take care that we lose not that salvation, that life and breath which thou hast given us, for thou art our shepherd, thou art our physician, thou art our governor, thou art our husbandman, thou art finally another God on earth”
In 1302 Pope Boniface said this in a letter to the Catholic Church:
“Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creature be subject to the Roman Pontiff.“
Pope Pius V said this:
“The Pope and God are the same, so he has all power in Heaven and earth.“
Pope Pius XI said this about himself:
“PIUS XI, Pontifex Maximus.“
Pope Leo XIII said this about the role of the Pope:
“We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty.”
In this reference in Revelation 13, the word blasphemies is added. The Biblical definition of the word blasphemies is:
1. to claim to be God;
Jesus said: “I and the Father are one” John 10:30
The response that Jesus got for claiming to be God, was considered blasphemy by the Jews:
“The Jews answered Him saying, we do not stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy, and for you, being a man, make yourself God.” John 10:33
2. to claim to forgive sins;
“And seeing their faith, He said to him, Man, your sins are forgiven you. And the scribes and Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this that speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins except God alone?” Luke 5:20, 21
What does Rome say that can be considered blasphemy? Let’s give a few examples:
“This judicial authority will even include power to pardon sins.” Catholic Encyclopedia, volume 12, article “pope”, p 265.
“…seek where you will, through heaven and earth, and you will find one created being who can forgive the sinner, who can free him from the chains of hell. That extraordinary being is the priest, the Roman Catholic priest.” The Catholic priest, p 78.
“Thou art a priest forever, says the ordaining bishop… He is no longer a man, a sinful child of Adam, but an “Alter Christus“, another Christ… Forever a priest of the Most High, with power over the Almighty.”
Note: Alter, or Another in Greek is Anti – Anti-Christ therefore.
“The pope is not only the representative of Jesus Christ, but he is Jesus Christ Himself, under the veil of flesh…” The Catholic National, July 1895.
“God Himself is obliged to abide by the judgment of His priests, and either not to pardon or to pardon, according as they refuse or give absolution…the sentence of the priest precedes and God subscribes to it.” Dignities and Duties of the priest, volume 12, p27.
Cardinal Bellarmine says; “All names which in scripture are applied to Christ, by virtue of which it is established that he is over the church, all the same names are applied to the Pope.” On the authority of councils, volume 2, p 266.
“Given in Rome from our palace, the 10th February, 1817, the XIV, Jurisdiction of the most Holy Pontiff and Father in Christ, and our Lord our God, the Pope, Leo XII…” Rome as it is, p 180.
“We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty” The great encyclical letters of Pope Leo XIII, Encyclical Letters, June 20, 1894.
“We define that the Holy Apostolic See and the Roman Pontiff holds the primacy over the whole world.” The Most Holy Councils, volume 13, col 1167.
Given these statements, does Rome really control the world? Is that possible?
“and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.”
Note: In other studies we have learned that a prophetic period of 42 months is a literal 1260 years. For some more detail on this principal please read Introduction to Bible prophecies or Attributes of the little horn in Daniel point number 10.
This 42 months period is the exact same time period that is referred to in the book of Daniel and Revelation as;
1. time, times and half a time
2. 1260 days
3. 3 1/2 years
This prophetic period translates to a literal 1260 year period which was fulfilled during the dark ages from 538 AD until 1798. In 538 AD the pope resumed the throne as the Bishop of Rome with ecclesiastical authority over the whole world. In 1798 Pope Pius IX was dethroned during the French Revolution and died in exile a while later. 1798 is also the period when this beast received a head would that seemed fatal after a literal 1260 years of reign, which is 42 prophetical months.
“And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.”
Note: This is the third reference to blasphemy in this one prophecy. The blasphemous word that this power speak is of great relevance to us and is one of the characteristics that belongs to no other power in the world.
“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.”
Note: This is also the second reference in this prophecy saying that this beast is actively involved in war against it’s accusers and opposers. We already know that this kingdom have waged war against the saints of the Most High during the dark ages, and that this kingdom’s mortal wound to the head has been healed, meaning that the Vatican regained its former Church-State power that was lost in 1798.
Just like before we can expect that the Vatican, through her web of influence in world affairs, will once again oppose God’s children and seek to war against them. The war is actively waging in our time, more in secret in the form of the Counter-Reformation, than in the open, but the day will come that we will have to make a public statement of faith for our Lord Jesus Christ.
Conclusion
We have studied in the previous article that the Little Horn in Daniel 7 is referring to Papal Rome, the Vatican and the system behind the scenes. We understood that it is not the people that fill the pews each Sunday that God wish to expose, but rather the system of worship.
We have identified this power through 13 characteristics in Daniel 7 plus a few more character traits in Revelation 13. All the evidence point squarely towards the Papal power so it is important that we gather some more information around this power in order to understand better how this power controls and influences world affairs today and how it is connected to secret societies, Freemasonry, the Jesuit Order and politics.
This system is also called the Antichrist and in the next article we will tie in all other scripture verses which exposes it as such.
