Video: The Protestant Reformation
The name Protestant comes from the word Protest. Protestants during the Reformation, which started in the early 1500’s, protested against the Church of Rome and their false doctrine. The primary doctrine which started the Reformation was the question of Indulgences, which is the doctrine that money can buy a soul out of hell or Purgatory.
I find it humorous to read the famous quote of Johann Tetzel, Rome’s sleek Indulgences salesman: “As soon as pennies in the money chest ring, the souls out of their Purgatory do spring”.
